What is on Your Dog's Bucket List?

Now let me introduce you to Moxie’s older “sister” Tootsie.  Tootsie is 18 years old and is as sweet as Moxie is bold.  While Moxie is small and looks a bit like a teddy bear, Tootsie is tall and lean-a more elegant example of the breed.  Tootsie is energetic, curious, and playful, Moxie is happy just being cuddled until her next meal.   Although these two are very different in their approach to the world they are very bonded.

Question (Q): How did you come to live with Nancy?

Answer (A): Nancy came to where I was born to meet me.  My family lived with Joannie who everyone called “the poodle lady” .  Joanie raised my parents to be shown in competition.   Joanie spent a lot of time with me and my siblings.   Everyday she would hold us and get us used to people touching our faces, feet, and bodies so that we would not fear groomers or being touched by dog show judges.  Joanie was so kind, I missed my mom when I left her house, but I had learned to love people from Joanie.  I immediately knew that Nancy was also crazy about poodles-I am her seventh. ( Yes, I know I am adopted.)

Q: What are your interests?   

A: I am always interested in people but also love dogs!  So far I like every dog I have met and met a cat once that was chill.  My sister Moxie is dear to me, even when she plays rough and pulls my ears or steals my food.  Oh, did she tell you how cute she is?  Yeah, it’s true. 

I love being outside and often get the zoomies playing tag with humans.  I like to explore under the big hostas in my yard, or behind bushes—I know that rabbits and cats and bugs hide there also and enjoy the chase.  Inside I am likely to explore every nook and cranny of a house.   In the evenings I like to relax with Nancy and Moxie on the couch.  I am very content.  I love my toys too!

Q: Do you have a bucket list?

A: Every dog wants to catch a rabbit but honestly,  I wouldn’t know what to do with it-Nancy would never let me keep it since she is allergic to fur.  I would like more ice cream in my life and chocolate.  OMG!I know I can’t have chocolate, but that makes it even more desirable.    I love walks also and would like to go off lead in the woods someday.  I need a play day with some of my dog friends soon.

Q: Any final comments?

A: Just that I am a lucky dog to have Nancy who would do anything for me.  I can also tell her all my secrets!
